... the beauty of life passes us by...

"Years of love have been forgotten due to few minutes of hatred..." This was one of the quotes that touched my heart as I was just doing some random reading. Sadly, that is the reality of our life. We are born and we pursue our dreams and we forget one thing! To live! Hence the statement, while chasing your dreams, do not forget to live.

I remember the discussion I had with one old man, who had lived the prime of his life. I asked him, "what do you regret the most?" His answer was quite stunning but reflective. He regretted three things. One: the hatred he showed to others. Second: he built his empire and his name and he forgot himself as a person. Third: he regretted the things he failed to do when he had the time and opporutnity to do it! These three characterize most of us today.

"Life is beautiful in its entirety"... But oftentimes, we let it go and we whine up our time failing to gaze on its beauty. We watch things passing by us and we do not appreciate them, we don't appreciate or celebrate each other. We worry so much about what we do not have and get wasted looking for what we don't have. Beautiful moments of love, gratitude over what we have and we fail to appreciate the relationship we have with each other. We destroy! We hate! We kill! We lie! We tarnish! All for what? Nothing! One thing I have observed is that we all have more than what we need to be happy, but we spend time whining about what is not available. We have 80% and we often focus on the 20% which is not there. We rob ourselves of our own happiness.

During the short time of our lives, we build relationships. Do we make them worthwhile and memorable? We complain so much about each other. We take time, building Love but take seconds to destroy it. Growth happens in silence and in time but destruction happens in overwhelming noise! Years of love have been forgotten in few minutes of hatred...what a waste. People go around hotspoting hatred, families are tearing apart, communities are breaking! Some people derive joy in another person's sadness! Sadism! Gets worse when it turns deadly. Why can't we cherish the other. Oftentimes, people regret the love that was wasted, unexpressed when time and opportunity were there! The moments of sabotage and smear campaigns. All for nothing!

I'm so much touched by the words, ..." I built empires and my name and yet I forgot to live..." People are often chasing after something. The world judges our success basing on what we have and what we don't have and not on the wealth of our experiences. People build houses, buy cars, build their profile, yet, they're slaves to production. Their hearts are empty. We have everything and keep nothing. We chase success and not faithfulness. The void is within and is never filled because we are chasing after the wrong things. I think love fills is up, feeding the stranger and kindness fills is up. Maybe it's relative! After all, values are relative.

Lastly, we have this moment to do what we are supposed to do. This moment is ours, the next minute might not be ours. We wait for another time, another opportunity to do good...yet no one knows what will happen next minute. Some people say, life and time are twin brothers. Your time starts with your life and your life is given to you to live in time... We pray for long life, but do we pray for fulfilled life? Do we even know what fulfils us in the first place? How do we use the time given to us...

Make us know the shortness of our lives, that we may gain wisdom of heart....

This is a food for thought. You are absolutely right. All we need in life is love, for love has no room for hatred or obstacles to the other and we need to focus on what gives us life, joy and fulfillment
